As part of the upcoming WPG release, scheduled for 22 – 24 June 2026, the Business Manager and Merchant Admin Interface (MAI) default password length will be changed from 8 to 12 characters.
The next time a user’s password expires or is reset by the merchant admin after 24 June 2026, they will be prompted to set a 12-character password. This is to meet Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) requirements.
No other validation has changed and users with Multifactor Authentication (MFA) enabled will not be impacted. You can click here for merchant-facing password guidance.
